The Woman in Black

The long running, original West End production of The Woman in Black has delighted and terrified audiences for over thirty years. Critics and audiences worldwide are spooked and entertained in equal measure.

Susan Hill’s acclaimed ghost story comes dramatically alive in Stephen Mallatratt’s ingenious stage adaptation. Now celebrating three decades in the West End, Robin Herford’s gripping production is a brilliantly successful study in atmosphere, illusion and controlled horror.

A lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the specter of a Woman in Black, engages a skeptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It all begins innocently enough, but then, as they reach further into his darkest memories, they find themselves caught up in a world of eerie marshes and moaning winds.

Praised by the Chicago Tribune as “the scariest show in town,” The Woman in Black recently completed a successful 27-week tour in 2018-2019 season, having played Cleveland Playhouse, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse and the Royal George Theatre in Chicago.

Following a smash premiere in 2020, the show will make its exclusive limited NYC return engagement at the McKittrick Hotel October 21, 2021 through January 30, 2022.

Booked in conjunction with Tim Smith, Pemberley Productions.
